Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

With problems in the ears, nose, sinuses, mouth or throat, the ear, nose and throat doctor finds out the cause and what can help. The doctor asks about your symptoms and examines you, often with a microscope or a thin camera.

One visit is often not enough. The doctor decides with you whether you need more visits, tests, treatment or follow-up, based on the examination and how things go.

  1. You describe your symptoms.
  2. The doctor examines your ears, nose and throat, with a hearing test if needed.
  3. You go through the findings together and make a plan.
