Overview & Procedure

What the treatment is and how it's performed

What it is

With snoring from the soft palate, the procedure can reduce snoring. The doctor makes the palate stiffer so it vibrates less, under local anaesthetic, for example with small implants.

The procedure is usually done once, but you may need a check-up. The full effect can take months, and the doctor decides whether you need more treatment.

  1. The doctor assesses where the snoring comes from, often with a sleep study.
  2. The palate is numbed with an injection.
  3. You sit reclined during the procedure.

The procedure often takes less than half an hour.
